The Overland Kailash Mansarovar Yatra via Kerlung route is a once-in-a-lifetime pilgrimage experience that takes you on a journey to the sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Mansarovar in Tibet. Starting in Kathmandu, Nepal, the trek takes you through the beautiful landscapes of Tibet, crossing high altitude passes and rugged terrain. The 13-day Yatra is considered to be the most challenging of the routes, but also the most rewarding and spiritual.

The Overland Kailash Mansarovar Yatra is organized for the group size of 25 and above and travelers are required to apply for the Yatra and obtain necessary permits from the India Nepal and Chinese Governments. Day 1

Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon arrival in Kathmandu, you will be greeted by an airport representative who will assist you with your transfer to your hotel. After checking in, you will be offered a welcome drink and given a detailed briefing about the yatra. The Holy Kalash Manasarovar yatra, which is an overland yatra from Kathmandu. This yatra is considered to be a sacred pilgrimage for many people and is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to visit one of the most remote and holy places in the world. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 2

Pilgrimage Tour of Kathmandu Temples

The day begins with an early morning breakfast and a pilgrimage tour of Kathmandu. You will visit Pashupatinath temple, which is considered to be one of the most sacred Hindu temples in the world and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will also visit Jal Narayan Temple, which is important pilgrimage sites for Hindus. In the evening, you will have a detailed briefing about the Kailash Darshan Package, which includes important information about the pilgrimage and what to expect during the yatra. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kathmandu.

Day 3

Hike To Tarkeshwor Mahadev- Shivpuri National Park

Today we will Drive to , Jeetpur, PanchaMana a small village on the outskirts of Kathmandu. A Short Hike Trip to Tarkeshwor Mahadev Temple ( 3 Hrs round trip). Tarkeshwor Mahadev Temple is a temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. The temple is believed to be one of the oldest and most sacred temples in the Kathmandu Valley and is considered to be one of the four main temples of Lord Shiva in the valley. Back to PanchMane we will Visit Bhubaneshowari mandir which is a temple dedicated to Bhubaneswari, a Hindu goddess and one of the ten Mahavidyas, who are considered to be the ten aspects of the divine mother. Afternoon Back to Hotel. Overnight at Kathmandu.

Day 4

Full Day Sightseen of Patan Durbar Square & Bhaktapur Durbar Square

Day trip to Patan and Bhaktapur, two of Kathmandu's UNESCO World Heritage-listed sister cities. Patan is known for its rich Newari culture and traditional architecture, and Bhaktapur is famous for its beautiful temples and medieval streets. You will have a guided tour of the main sights in both cities and get a chance to explore the local culture and history.

Day 5

Drive From Kathmandu To Rasuwa Gadi

After breakfast, you will begin your yatra to Rasuwa Gadi, which is located about 152km from Kathmandu. The drive takes around 7 hours and offers breathtaking views of the Himalayan mountain range. Rasuwa Gadi is a remote and mountainous region that is known for its natural beauty and serene atmosphere. Overnight stay at a hotel ,room on Sharing basis with common bathroom in Syarbenshi Rasuwa Gadi.

Day 6

Customs Formalities and Drive to Kerung

After breakfast, you will complete immigration and customs formalities on both sides (Nepal & China) and drive to the small town of Kerung, which is 26km away. Kerung is located on the border of Nepal and Tibet and is the starting point of the Kalash-Manasarovar yatra. The town is situated at an elevation of 3700 to 3900 m and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kerung.

Day 7

Acclimatization Day in Kyirong

An acclimatization day in Kyirong is a day set aside to allow travelers to adjust to the high altitude of the Himalayas. Altitude sickness, also known as acute mountain sickness (AMS), can occur when traveling to high altitude areas. travelers can rest and take it easy, allowing their bodies to adjust to the altitude. They can also explore the town and nearby area, visit local monasteries, and learn about the culture and history of the region with short treks for preparation of Kailash yatra.

Day 8

Drive to Sanga

After breakfast Journey start after drive to Dongba This drive offers plenty of natural scenery like Brahamaputra river, Paigu-Tso lake. you will drive to Sanga, a distance of 335 km nearly 7 hrs. drive. Along the way, you will enjoy grand views of Mt. Shishapangma, which is the 14th highest mountain in the world and is located in the Himalayas. You will also see the Gauri Shankar mountain and other high mountains from Gurungng-La Pass. Sanga is a small village located at an altitude of 4500m and is known for its natural beauty and peaceful atmosphere. Overnight stay at Sanga with Best available hotel on Sharing basis room with common bathroom.

Day 9

Drive to Lake Manasarovar

After breakfast, you will drive to Lake Manasarovar, a distance of 385km. Lake Manasarovar is considered to be one of the holiest lakes in the world and is visited by thousands of pilgrims each year. The lake is located at an altitude of 4500m and offers stunning views of the surrounding mountains, including Mt. Kailash, which is considered to be the holiest mountain in the world. Overnight stay at a Lodge on Sharing basis room with common bathroom at Chhu Gompa on the shore of Lake Manasarovar.

Day 10

Perform Holy Rituals and Drive to Darchen

On this holy day, you will have the opportunity to perform various rituals such as puja, havana, meditation, and holy bath at the lake Manasarovar. After completing these rituals, you will drive to Darchen, which is 30km away. Darchen is the base camp for the Kailash Parikarma (circumambulation) and is located at an altitude of 4560m. Overnight stay at a guest house Lodge on Sharing basis room with common bathroom in Darchen.

Day 11

Yatra from Darchen to Dirapuk

Early in the morning, you will start your yatra from Darchen to Dirapuk, a distance of 18km. This is one of the most exciting days of the yatra as you will be walking along beautiful rocky cliffs and waterfalls with some clouds in the clear blue sky. The 18km trail takes around 7 hours to complete. Overnight stay at a guest house in Dirapuk. which is North face of mount Kailash also known as feet of lord Shiva. Then we will touch feet (Charan Sparsha). Also pilgrims who do not want to trek around (Parikrama) Kailash can go back to Darchen and wait for the rest of the group to arrive from parikrama on next day

Day 12

Yatra from Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk

After breakfast, you will continue your yatra from Dirapuk to Zuthulphuk, a distance of 22km. This is the tough part of the Yatra. We ascend more higher and cross about 6 km distance through the rugged trial as you will trek up to Dolma La pass which is at an altitude of 5600m via Kuber pass ,Kuber Kunda, Kuber valley. You will offer short prayers at Dolmala and move towards Gaurikunda. Overnight stay at a guest house on Sharing basis room with common bathroom in Zuthulphuk.

Day 13

Yatra from Zuthulphuk to Sanga via Manasarovar Horchu

After breakfast, you will yatra around 8 km from Zuthulphuk to Sanga via Manasarovar Horchu. The parikarma (circuit) ends and you will reach a point where your jeeps will be waiting to drive you to Darchen. and meet the pilgrims who didn’t do the Parikrama After lunch, you will drive to Saga via Manasarovar Horchu. Overnight stay at a hotel in Saga.

Day 14

Drive back to Kerung

After breakfast, you will drive back to Kerung, which is located near the border of Nepal and Tibet. This will be a chance to reflect on the spiritual yatra you have taken and appreciate the natural beauty of the Himalayas. Overnight stay at a hotel in Kerung.

Day 15

Drive from Kerung to Kathmandu

After breakfast, you will drive to the border, complete customs formalities, and then be picked up by the Nepal side and continue the drive to Kathmandu. The drive takes around 9 hours and will offer one last chance to take in the beauty of the Himalayas. You will check into the same hotel as before.

Day 16

Departure

Today is your departure day, you will be transferred to the airport or your onward destination. You will have the opportunity to take away with you the memories of an unforgettable spiritual yatra and the natural beauty of the Himalayas.

Passport & Visa

All travelers should have a valid passport for six months and a visa can be obtained from the Nepalese embassy or consulate in India, however, a visa is stamped at the time of arrival at the Airport. For yatra, you get a group visa and we get entry in the groups as per size. While submitting a passport for a visa it’s not necessary to send your old passport.

Change/Delay in Program

Sometimes due to unavoidable circumstances like bad climate, political unrest, landslides, health illness, and natural disasters which are beyond human control may occur, we will be happy to refer you for any alternative trip to suit you.   

Health & Fitness

We advise you have checked with your physician before making any trip. It is advisable to let us know if you have any problems with your health.

Travel Insurance

Your compulsory should have your travel insurance to cover accidents, and emergency rescue in case of unfavorable climatic conditions Since the Kailash Yatra is one of the tough treks in the entire world.

Complaints

Any complaints during the trip can be informed to your tour leader or guide immediately or at the office after the completion of the trip. The management will try to look into the matter and take action accordingly.

Deluxe and good standard hotels are in the cities like Kathmandu, Kerlung, Darchen at other places like Mansarovar lake and During Kora of Kailash, there are guest houses and lodges with basic facilities without any modern amenities.

Meals

All pure and freshly cooked vegetarian meals during the entire trip to MT.Kailash with an experienced Indian and continental cook and Sherpa from Nepal. Every Meal would be Buffet.

Altitude Sickness
While going to high altitudes Parts of your trips are above 2500 meters/9200 feet where it is common for travelers to experience some adverse health effects due to the altitude - regardless of your age, gender and fitness. Take it easy, and follow our suggestions to reduce the sickness effects. The altitude problem is very common for everyone who arrives at the high altitude region from a lower altitude area, but some are affected seriously and some are not, so there is a certain way to prevent it or minimize its effect by preparing before you go to the highlands. Here we have listed some tips that we had experienced in the past years.

Mental preparation and altitude sickness is also can help psychologically, so you should take it very normally and keep your mind in a comfortable state. 
Keep your body physically fit, so exercise regularly and make yourself physically fit. Sleep well and rest well on the day before you arrive at a high altitude. Take everything slowly for the first couple of days when you arrived in high altitude region, walk slowly and try to sleep lower altitude first. Drink enough water and avoid alcohol.

Currency:

Only US Dollars & Euros can be exchanged in Yuan for this you may change the currency from banks in Tibet to Chinese Yuan, currency used in Tibet or For INR gets exchanged in your country with Exchange or you can find it in Nepal also but the rates fluctuate almost every day. And buying and selling rates always differ.                                                                     

Insurance:

We recommend that you insure yourself against sickness, emergency surface or air rescue, accident, trip cancellation, medical treatment, hospitalization, etc. We regret that such policies are not available in Nepal.

Communication:
You can make calls from almost everywhere. Tibet has a good networking for mobile phones. And during a stay at the hotel, you can use wifi if available otherwise you find a Chinese Sim-card on purchase which may cost 200 Yuan.

Clothing, equipment, and accessories:
While driving, it will be warm inside the vehicle but windy cold outside. Mornings and evenings will be generally cold therefore warm clothing will be required. We recommend that you bring the following clothing and accessories with you.

Booking a trip

Valid passport for six month and more and 6 passport size photographs copy (scan copy or send to contact person. Advance token of 10 to 20 % for confirming the trip. In total 80 % amount of the entire trip cost  should be paid after visa  and rest 20 % of the payment should be done upon your arrival in Nepal before departure of your trip. Please do your planning carefully as per your budget and time. You need to make booking before minimum of 30 to 40 days of departure dates.

Cancellation time and refund policy are as follows: All the cancelation and refund charges are based on the total cost of tour packages.

  • 90% refundable if cancel before 40 days or a month before the trip.
  • 40% refundable 20 days of departure date weeks before the departure date.
  • 25% refund between 08 -15 days before the departure date.
  • 0% refundable less than a week.
